Potholes is one of the major causes of auto accidents in the nation. Varying in sizes between several inches and several feet, they are caused by the wear and tear and weathering of the road. In regions prone to earthquakes, they can also be caused by the shifting of the ground. Once it forms, the pothole can grow quickly and become a hazard for motorists.
Even minor potholes put a lot of stress on a vehicle’s suspension and shocks. Major potholes can cause instant and dramatic damage as well as result in accidents. They can easily cause the motorist to lose control of the vehicle. Some cases have caused tire damage. Motorcycle accidents caused by potholes are often deadly.
If you notice a pothole, promptly report its location and condition. You might be saving lives.
