LAS VEGAS – Aug. 26 – J and J Enterprises, a provider of Las Vegas concrete services, knows exactly what its’ like to work in three-digit heat temperatures. Whether providing parking lot striping or paving highways, our workers braze the heat on a daily basis and are experts at staying at the top of their game even under a glazing sun. Umbrellas and appropriate uniforms made of light fabric only go so far when so much of their success depends on the physical side of things. J and J Asphalt came up with a few useful tips that can work for anyone looking to spend a physically challenging day in hot weather.
Drink before you are thirsty. If you are thirsty, it’s likely that your body is already getting dehydrated and it will take a while to replenish its liquid resources. One of the signs of dehydration can be an irresistible urge to take a nap. Interchange water with sports drinks for electrolyte balance.
Avoid drinks with caffeine. They can amplify the effects of the heat and increase your heart rate or potentially contribute to dehydrating the body. No matter how tempting power drinks might be, they are tend to be full of sugar and caffeine, not a good combination when you are looking for fuel to last you all eight hours.
Eat snacks and wholesome small meals that will keep your energy level up and prevent you from getting drowsy. We try to bring a cooler with a sandwich, fruit slices and a powerbar.
Since 1979, J & J enterprises has been at the head of the class for Las Vegas paving companies for commercial and industrial projects, ranging from concrete and construction, to striping and patching.
