| Asphalt Maintenance:
Pothole Patching |
| |
Potholes are a natural result of aging pavement and seasonal
weather changes that occur occasionally in even the most
well built streets.
To permanently repair a pothole, the hole is excavated
and a square is cut out of the pavement surrounding the
hole.
All loose material is removed, the hole is dried and liquid
asphalt is applied to the surface of the excavated hole
to aid in the bonding between the new and old asphalt
pavement. |
| |
| |
The pothole is then filled with asphalt and properly compacted.
Permanent pothole repairs extend the useful life of the
pavement. |
